Adult Diabetes Education

With an ADA-recognized Diabetes Education Program, the University of Chicago Kovler Diabetes Center provides a range of resources to support your medical care and guide you through decisions and challenges you may face because of diabetes. Our diabetes education program offers several classes to help you manage your diabetes. In addition, our Certified Diabetes Educators provide one-to-one nutritional counseling, insulin instruction, meter instruction, and individual sessions tailored to meet your specific needs.

Childhood Diabetes Education 

Kovler's pediatric diabetes education program at both The University of Chicago and La Rabida are recognized by the American Diabetes Association. This accreditation shows that we offer high-quality diabetes self-management education that is an essential component of effective diabetes treament. 

Fast Facts about diabetes classes:

  • At this time, classes are open only to patients in the care of a University of Chicago provider.
  • In order to participate in a class, you need to obtain an "order" from your University of Chicago provider.
  • All classes are held at the University of Chicago Kovler Diabetes Center.
  • Pre-registration is required for classes. To register, please call 773-702-2371 or e-mail us at diabetes@uchospitals.edu
