Research Events
The Kovler Diabetes Center has close ties to the Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago. In collaboration with this Section and the enrichment core of the DRTC, Kovler Diabetes Center members attend lectures in a seminar series given by visiting scientists and professors many of which are actively involved in diabetes and obesity research. Upcoming seminars for the 2007/2008 academic year are listed below.
In addition, as part of its educational program, the Kovler Diabetes Center as strong ties to the Committee on Molecular Metabolism & Nutrition (CMMN) that is a PhD granting program in the Biomedical Sciences Cluster of the Graduate School of the University of Chicago. Many of the students in this program conduct diabetes and obesity research, and part of its educational and research program the CMMN as its own seminar series where visiting diabetes/obesity research scientists and professors come to lecture and interact with faculty and students on the latest developments in their area of expertise.
